The IWC Ingenieur

A 1950s icon returns
A clear design, robust materials and a sophisticated technology: the IWC Ingenieur combines casual elegance with the inventive spirit of the 1950s. The IWC Ingenieur collection has been completely redesigned and is as legendary as ever, celebrating the passion for performance and innovation.

Historic motorsport event

The nostalgia and charisma of the IWC Ingenieur fans
It is a spectacle in a class of its own: Every year, motorsport aficionados, race car drivers and engineers come together in Goodwood, in the southern English county of Sussex. Revving engines and gleaming classic race cars from the 1950s are bound to make the hearts of retro motorsport fans beat faster.

The redesigned IWC Ingenieur collection was presented at the 75th Goodwood Members’ Meeting in 2017.

The streamlined design and first-class technology of the classic race cars cut an iconic figure on the racetrack, dazzling with their perfection, charisma and cross-generational appeal – just like the IWC Ingenieur collection by the Schaffhausen watchmaker.

The spirit of the 1950s lives on

Inspired by the designs of yesteryear, the Goodwood Members’ Meeting provides the perfect setting to present the IWC Ingenieur. This reissued men’s watch is an appreciative nod to the innovative spirit of the 1950s. It was an era in which inventive engineers revolutionised the worlds of industry and technology, bringing about a boom of renewal and progress – both in motorsports as well as in the art of watchmaking.

The IWC Ingenieur appeals to nostalgics and technology enthusiasts alike.

Aesthetics and functionality

The first IWC Ingenieur was launched in 1955 – a wristwatch with a clear, simple design that was exceptionally precise. The new collection transposes the design from the 1950s into the present day with a clean look combined with a love of technical detail: the perfect harmony of aesthetics and functionality. The current collection also features various chronographs.

Make time stop

With the new IWC Ingenieur Chronograph
In case you would like to time the laps around the racecourse yourself: the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph features a stopwatch function with hours, minutes and seconds. This men’s watch is not only elegant, it also brings the spirit of the 1950s and the era’s enthusiasm for technology to the present day: it is powered by the new IWC-manufactured 69375-calibre movement with a bidirectional pawl-winding system and a 46-hour power reserve. The tachymeter scale and stainless steel case with polished bezel emphasise the one-of-a-kind character of this chronograph particularly well.

Three versions of the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph

If it is a stainless steel case and bracelet you are after, the Schaffhausen watchmaker offers two versions of its IWC Ingenieur Chronograph: one with a silver-plated dial and gold-plated hands, the other with a blue dial and rhodium-plated hands. A third version of this men’s watch boasts an 18K rose gold case, a slate-grey dial, gold-plated hands and a black alligator leather strap.

All three models feature a transparent glass back that provides a view of the technology inside. Here, the latest IWC-manufactured calibre, decorated with Geneva stripes and circular graining, is on full display.
