Breitling's mission

Since 1884, Breitling’s mission has been clear: the creation of toolwatches with optimum functionality and powerful aesthetic. A pioneer at heart, Breitling single-handedly created in 1934 the modern chronograph in form and function, worn on the wrist and operated by two pushers. Very quickly, the company established enduring ties with the aviation world in providing cockpit instruments throught its Department 8 Aviation for some of the most glorious planes. Since the creation of this high-performance caliber in 2009, Breitling pursued its relentless pursuit of innovation and performance, and developed a full range of Manufacture Breitling calibers around the chronograph complication.
